I’m a fan of like
I was thinking about how the “become a fan” feature has quietly disappeared from facebook. While I don’t get too wrapped up in that stuff, I kind of “like” this one. Mostly because it’s more accurate. I like John Mayer, but I’m not a fan of John Mayer. Because, as you may or may not know, a fan is short for fanatic. While I enjoy a good dose of Continuum from time to time, I am not screaming, arm waving, break down and cry about it.
Speaking of liking stuff: One of my friends “likes facebook”. No shit. You’re using it, no need to tell us that you “like” it.
